Ah, Italia, bellissimo.
We stay in a home swap organised apartment, unfortunately our hosts can't come, but we have free use of their holiday house, bikes etc. The view and beach are amazing.
We spend 5 days walking, cycling and climbing 100's of steps to visit medieval villages. It's prime tourist location, and extremely busy for the first few days, but then summer and the weekend finish and it's quieter. Bike/footpaths link many of the places, but there's a few hairy moments cycling through dark, narrow tunnels with buses squeezing past. Mamma Mia!
Our little Italian is more than enough to manage: senza glutine is important for Kay, as is cafe latte macchiato, pizza, gelato, formaggio, prosecco etc. We already know ciao, Buon giourno, grazie, por favore...
We find an free open-air piano recital, featuring the 4 winners of PalmeD'oro comp, it doesn't start till 9.15 so Kay really struggles to stay awake but Ian relishes every note.
A spectacular part of the world. Looks like you are enjoying every moment. Enjoy Cinque Terre. It looks amazing. I'd love to go there. Did you go to Portifino? xx
ReplyDeletePrego is also a good one - can be used at almost any opportunity! Bonne continuation!
