Ybbs to Mauthausen

30 km, av16, total 545

We leave after a hearty breakfast and it's drizzling. We ride 25km and it's raining. We cross the river to the train station, wring buckets of water from socks and gloves, and jump into the warm carriage. Enough, this isn't the Great Vic, we have choices!
We are in a comfy zimmer frei - private accommodation house - that's old and huge, and have a shopping centre and McD across the road. What more could we need?

  1. I've just caught up with your blog in the last couple of days and am both impressed and of course very envious. Stolen bikes and bad weather only adds to the adventure, and although hard to appreciate at the time will lead to great stories in years to come - some of my most memorable rides, if not the most enjoyable at the time, have been in terrible weather conditions, and its nice to look back and know that you've survived them. I look forward to following the rest of your trip with interest and catching up when you're back in Torquay. Good to see that as in life you're enjoying the journey and not just the destination - enjoy the rest of the trip.

    Cheers, Brian Peckham.
